amy’s second draft statement

The science of how art influences human nature is complex and evolves with humanity as we change. As both a scientist anticipating a B.S. in Neuroscience as well as an artist anticipating a B.A. in Digital Media Design I aim to understand these nuances and work towards a cohesive art/science experience. I use my knowledge of the inter-workings of the brain to provide designs that work with our minds instead of against them.

I gain inspiration from natural movement as well as historical victorian and art nouveau motifs to emphasize an organic experience while incorporating a whimsical feel to my work. Utilizing design thinking and analytical strategies of both qualitative and quantitative data provide a robust background for creating user-centered work.
